Casey Hom is a New Orleans native who somehow finds himself in Tyler, Texas. Casey is that guy that always had many friends and always wants to move forward, yet always lacked the ability to sit still. Before 1000 Cranes Coffee Roasters, Casey was a young college student frustrated by the idea of sitting behind a desk. Often standing behind a coffee counter and avoiding homework, Casey found a true appreciation for what can be built on an amazing cup of coffee as well as the relationships that can grow out of it. Luckily this industry is built on the backs of communities and people rather than a single person. Between Casey and his wife Ashley, 1000 Cranes Coffee Roasters is built on over 12 years of industry experience. Though Casey may be the one overseeing day to day operations, we believe the team consists of Casey as the roaster and all of the people who make this possible.
In the beginning it was our wish to just begin roasting and serving the friends around us coffee that would improve their day and their work flow. At 1000 Cranes Coffee Roasters, we know that to achieve our wish we have to work hard and be focused. Not only on the nuances of life but also on the quality of our work in order to pay homage to the the people who grow the beans we roast.
In Japan, there is a legend of granting wishes. Instead of wishing on a star or depending on luck, the Japanese believed in the perfect representation of 1000 cranes. Paper folding in Japan was considered as a ceremonial and religious art. Since the crane is believed to live for a thousand years, each paper crane represents one year in a crane's life. When one has completed 1000 origami cranes, then the sacred crane will grant his or her wish.
Now we are not folding cranes all day, but we take our work seriously. We treat coffee as a ceremonial and religious art and color outside the lines to strive for a perfect representation of what coffee should be.
At 1000 Cranes Coffee Roasters our main focus is on the process. Our process consists of the quality of beans we order, the ethical sourcing of beans, the freshness of product, the people we call family and the way we conduct ourselves on a day to day basis. By doing something perfectly 1000 times we find hope to find contentment and self satisfaction. This is our art and this is our wish. Every batch we do we see as another crane folded and another milestone completed.
1000 Cranes Coffee Roasters is a business dedicated to roasting specialty coffee beans that anyone can appreciate. We work with many different people and businesses to create a unified product that is truly one of a kind. Our beans are roast to order ensuring that every friend is greeted by fresh delectable beans.
